A Lovesong for Nobody

Introverts, in contrast, may have strong social skills and enjoy parties and business meetings, but after a while wish they were home in their pajamas. They prefer to devote their social energies to close friends, colleagues, and family. They listen more than they talk, think before they speak, and often feel as if they express themselves better in writing than in conversation. They tend to dislike conflict. Many have a horror of small talk, but enjoy deep discussions.

Nothing is more difficult than having to make the decisions you really don’t want but you know will be better for you in the long run.

the moments when your heart is so full you feel like it is going to explode out of your chest. and so then for the rest of your week the love just seeps out of every pore in your body. yeah, that was this past weekend/week for me.

hmmmm…

Things don’t just fall back together like no time has elapsed. No matter how hard you try. People change, sometimes so much that you feel like you hardly know them anymore. Not in a bad way, either. Just different. And you have to keep reminding yourself, this going to take effort. Because no matter how much you want things to go back, there is no rewind button on life, on friendship. There is no picking up exactly where you left off. It is going to be different. Not in a bad way, necessarily. Just different.

‘Blessed are pliable hearts for they will never break.’ - Saint Francis de Sales

volunteering in North Minneapolis tonight, one of the Sisters I worked with brought up this quote. It struck me in more ways than I can relate on this little blog. I think she was there to tell me that for reason. The end of an era, family tragedy, and silly petty drama all came to mind for me. I love this quote and am going to put it all over, so that I never forget it.

I dont know what I did wrong. Or what I do wrong, every time I try to be friends with guys.

That awkward moment when…

Two people from your dance class ask you to take a picture of them and you’re like “oh sure!” and next thing you know everyone else in the class is jumping in. Except you. Cuz you’re taking the picture. Thanks guys, love you too.

Little moments like that remind me that I’m really not as close with everyone as I think am.

when you realize that it took about one week to go from miserable to blissfully happy.
